Sensory Nerve Conduction Velocities in the Median and Ulnar Nerves

Abstract
This study was to attempt to establish the normal value of the sensory conduction velocities of the median and ulnar nerves in normal Korean adults.
In this study, twenty males and twenty females between 20 and 59 years of age were selected. Men with a history of any injury of an extremity, metabolic disease, vascular disease, peripheral and central neuropathy, alcoholics, hypertension and tuberculosis were excluded in this study.
The room temperature of the laboratory was maintained between 20 and 25 degrees centigrade. Sensory conduction velocities of the median and ulnar nerves were measured by the antidromic method with Hewlett-Packard Electromyography Machine, Model 1510A.
